Wow! It's April already. Spring is in the air and this is a time to congratulate Chattanooga on achieving 100% CARE and for being recognized as a Chapter Membership Super Star! This recognition means your chapter met all 18 elements of CARE and achieved over 50 percent joint chapter-ATD membership in 2014. This is a great accomplishment for our Chapter, and we want to thank you for your continued support of our Chapter.
I see 2015 as a game changing year for our Chapter, moving from American Society for Training Development to the Chattanooga Area Association for Talent Development; changing the chapter's by-laws; restructuring our board to meet the chapter's needs and sustain our health; and bringing more opportunities to our members for involvement in serving on a committee and/or volunteering to assist and help manage our learning events, workshops, or certificate programs. If interested in helping, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We started off the year with a Coaching Panel and networking event in January. February, we were able to learn about tracking learning that matters, and March was geared around reaching out virtually. Our chapter was a part of the Chattanooga Business Expo and we had a great turnout at our booth, we spun the wheel for door prizes, played a little basketball and brought awareness to Chattanooga about our Chapter.
April’s learning event is built around “Getting Real Value from your Analysis” and a special workshop for the “3 Core Principles of Instructional Design" by Dick Handshaw. As summer approaches we have a sweet learning event from “Lessons from the Flock: Creativity Workshop” to test your creative juices for May. In June, become fearless with us by attending our mini workshop on “Fearless Facilitation: How to Engage and Involve your Audience.” We all need leaders to help us grow in our professional lives - come and join us to learn about the “Leadership Advantage” in July. I dare you!
We have a Chapter Team going to the ATD International Conference and Expo around May 17-20. If you plan on going, you can save money by looking for our Chapter Team during registration. If you call, let Customer Care know about our Chapter ChIP code 4087.
In August and October, ATD National is coming to Chattanooga for the 3rd year in a row. This year we are have scheduled two certificate programs: August 20-21 – “Project Management for the Learning Professional” and for October 20-21 – “Coaching” certificate programs.
As you can see, our calendar is full and we need you. Let us know what topics, workshops, certificate programs you want to see in 2016 as we begin our planning session in August.
See you soon.
