Dysfunctional leaders and what to do about them:

The saying goes, “people do not quit organizations; they quit managers.” As the landscape of the workplace has changed, the archaic method of instilling fear in employees simply does not work. There has been shift to become a more humble, servant leader and many managers are still trying to navigate in that direction. This presentation will challenge leaders to take a closer look at their own leadership style and motivation tactics. Are you a dysfunctional leader or a humble leader?

    Learning Objectives:

    • Recognize the four sins of a toxic leader
    • Define how leadership is changing
    • Transition from a toxic leader to a humble leader

The novel coronavirus led to an almost 900% increase in number of employees working from home. Dr. Melissa Gratias, productivity coach, speaker, and author posits that companies will never go back to baseline levels again. The good news is that working from home is well-researched. We have a good idea what works and what doesn’t. In this presentation, Dr. Gratias will review past work-from-home research and discuss the lessons we have learned that will help companies now and in the future.

    Learning Objectives:

    • To understand the reservations employers may have (or have had) about working from home
    • To be able to cite research that demonstrates the employer and employee benefits of working from home
    • To use the lessons from past work-from-home research to inform future workplace policies
