Our theme for 2015 is “New Year, New Name, and New Vision.” This is an exciting time to be a part of our organization as we transition from the Greater Chattanooga Area chapter of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) to the Greater Chattanooga chapter of the Association for Talent Development (ATD). Our vision is to bring engagement among our members in all areas of the Chapter, making this the year for our members. So, how can you help? We invite you to share your talents, expertise, try out a new idea at one of our monthly learning events, ask us about volunteering opportunities, write an article, present at a one of our learning events, or serve on a committee.
Change is coming and while we are in the midst of these changes we must embrace every opportunity to constantly learn. Take the time to apply what we have learned and to continually work towards improvement as needed. Remember that every person that we come into contact with is an integral part of our lives, and we must work together in collaboration to meet the needs for our personal and professional growth. As a member, what kinds of benefits do you wish that your local chapter can bring to you? Give us your feedback and our 2015 Board will take your ideas, suggestions, and recommendations into account and be a stronger chapter this year.
Have you considered paying it forward? What I mean is, how are you helping others to succeed? While thinking about your answers to these questions, I want to challenge each of you is take the first step by simply “getting involved.”
Wishing you all a very healthy, happy and prosperous 2015!
President, Chattanooga Area Chapter Association for Talent Development
