November. Just mentioning the month leads one to think of so many things - giving thanks, turkeys, pumpkins, family, holidays and almost the end of year! I am sure you have your own thoughts that come to mind.

At our October meeting, Bob Lucas, B.S., M.A., M.A., CPLP Principal, Robert W. Lucas Enterprises/Award Winning Author shared with our organizations how to use our brain power to be creative in our presentations and to gain a “competitive edge” utilizing interactive components to engage your audience.  Check out his web-site for articles

On November 12th, we are taking taking you to Wilson Air Center, Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport Authority to hear Brad Rainey, CEO, Personal Performance Partnership bring in Leadership 2.0: STRIVE to Connect!  This interactive mini-workshop includes an overview of the workplace challenges that exist within each of the areas of Association for Talent Development concentration, and give an introduction of the STRIVE method of leadership.  The goal is to give attendees a unique leadership acumen that can be applied immediately in their daily training and leadership activities.

We need your help voting in the 2016 Board of Directors.  We'll vote during our November 12th learning event!

PS: I want to share my appreciation for a hard working board, and sticking with it while we fill in for the open board positions and making changes to our organization over this year. If you are interested in becoming more involved in our local chapter, please contact me at There are many benefits to volunteering and giving back to our chapter!

I hope to see you at the meeting!

Thank you for the opportunity to serve,
Karla Byrd
