Leaving a Learning Legacy Using Next-Generation Training Delivery Tools

Presented by: Steve Swink

Date: Thursday, May 12, 2016

Time: 11:30AM - 1:00PM

Location: University of Phoenix
1208 Pointe Centre Drive, Suite 200
Chattanooga, TN 37421

With technology and connectivity becoming ubiquitous and increasingly affordable and the relevance of knowledge changing so rapidly, innovative designers and facilitators are cobbling together technologies in creative ways to allow learners to participate in collaborative ways, curate their own knowledge, and continue to cultivate living documents that follow them out of the classroom and onto the job. You will explore some of the latest free or low-cost technologies available embedded in resources you likely already have. The speaker will briefly demonstrate how to leverage tools such as OneNote and SharePoint as well as discuss and offer some alternatives to these tools. You will discuss the pros and cons of using OneNote notebooks to develop, deliver, and curate training. Next, working in small groups or at tables, you will bring the notion of collaborative and pervasive learning to life firsthand as you form your ideas and experiences into a live, working collaborative notebook available to download at the end of and after the session.

Learning Objectives:

  • Apply principles learned, either by building your own templates from scratch or using the tool you collaboratively build in the session.
  • Discover new ways to apply existing yet likely latent resources to deliver collaborative and pervasive learning experiences.
