Taking The Plunge - Starting Your Own Business

As trainers, we often find ourselves in the role of consultant: we create training materials or deliver training under the direction of project stakeholders.  Have you ever imagined what it would be like to have a variety of stakeholders from different organizations?  This session’s panel has done just that.  These panelists stepped out on their own, have overcome the setbacks of consulting and have seen success.  Join us for a panel interview where you can learn about local entrepreneurs’ journeys: what worked, what did not work, and if this is something in your future.  Panelists include:  Leanne Barron, LBarronConsulting; Mike O’Neil, Bench-Builders.com; Kashun Parks, Propel Higher Consulting Inc; and Ron Starks, Sandler Training.

Leanne Sigrist Barron is a trainer, leader, and coach who has been working in the training and development industry for over 17 years. Her company, LBarronConsulting, specializes in customized soft skill training and team building workshops for organizations, career coaching for individuals and campaign consulting for local candidates.

For over 20 years, Mike led HR in Fortune 500 companies. For the last 10 years, he's helped companies improve their bottom-line by improving their management's bench strength. Mike is the managing principal of Bench Builders. His company helps businesses hire, train & keep great employees.

Kashun Parks, President, and Founder of Propel Higher Consulting Inc. has worked with many organizations over the past 20 years helping leaders, managers, and independent contributors inspire, develop, and educate employees in their organizations.
