Systems do NOT have to be optimal to initiate a change. This program will offer insight and a glimpse into the life of a company that initiated tremendous positive growth in Stability, Turnover, and Quality over a ten year period, all the while fighting for its financial life. As training professionals, we feel strongly that the processes, systems, and initiatives we put in place will lead our companies to fiscal success. Join us for a case study of doing the right thing, getting the right results, all the while witnessing a company's ultimate failure - and why you should still keep the faith!
Learning Objectives:
- ADDIE works
- Believe in your teams' ability to effect change
- Perfection is overrated - celebrate incremental change
About our Speaker:
Lynn Chambers, Director of Employment Development | Talley Construction & TJ. Hunt Trucking
Her career path has taken a few twists and turns since obtaining her B.S. in Physical Education/Recreational Management.
Along the way she’s been a Library Director, a Grant Writer, and a Media Specialist. In the 1990’s, Lynn was offered a “too good to be true” opportunity to beta test the James Madison University Workforce Development Certifications programs at no cost. Several months from completion she was asked to stay on and facilitate these courses, online.
Upon relocating to the Chattanooga area in 2002, her husband challenged her with “if you can teach it, I’ll be you can do it.” The idea had merit and she quite literally fell into an opportunity in the flooring industry to start an Employee Development/Training function at a large 7,000 team member company. Five promotions later, Lynn found herself leading an incredible team of training, HR, and engineering professionals.
A few more twist and turns later (you’ll hear more about that over the next 45 minutes) Lynn once again was honored to have the opportunity to start an Employee Development/HR function from the ground up at Talley Construction.
Lynn and her husband Tim are proud to call Ringgold, GA home. They are parents to a brilliant woman, grandparents to two incredible middle schoolers, avid sailors, really crummy golfers, and wait-staff to three obnoxious rescue mutts.
